Founded in Oct 2019 by Oscar Voller, the idea of CyCool was created after some friends were chatting about the difficulty of getting their bikes repaired. Self-taught from Youtube videos and backyard mechanics, then with roof bars acquired, Oscar put out the word regarding mobile cycle repairs and servicing on local Facebook pages and the word quickly began to spread! At first Oscar had the vision to encourage more people locally in Wickford to cycle and invited people to donate unused bikes to then return to the community in working order, however was overwhelmed with the amount of donations that were received!

Originally setting out on bike and trailer CyCool was servicing its local town Wickford, but with demand quickly growing from surrounding towns, the need of a vehicle was required. Now being able to carry all tools and equipment and transport up to 8 cycles, CyCool was also able to offer and cycle transport to and from events with enquiries about tours and holidays starting to arise.

Alongside CyCool’s main purpose of convenient cycle repairs, it has been great to work alongside local councils to encourage cycling in the local area, and source bikes for those in need of them. CyCool has also been lucky enough to feature in Essex based magazines and radio stations, all helping to spread the word about its services.

The well known blue Land Rover (Norman) was next in line, branded in CyCool and becoming the business truck, working as both a rolling advertisement and bike shop on wheels! With excellent towing capabilities and Oscars understanding of the demand for cycle transport and tours, CyCool picked up both a 16 and 24 cycle trailer. Now with the capacity to transport up to 30 cycles at once, CyCool is excited to offer UK and European cycle holidays, charity ride and cycle event support and offer the trailer out for private hire.

CyCool has since started to spread its services into the city of London. Now with our new cargo bike, we are offering mobile repairs and servicing, fleet maintenance and collaborations with other brands events, supporting the movement to achieving a greener London.

It’s been an exciting journey for CyCool so far and it’s still only just getting started. Our first CyCool holiday was a great success, and we’re excited for all those to come. We’re looking forward to what 2025 has to offer, and we’re going to make the most of every opportunity that we can, sharing our passion of all things cycling with our customers!
