King Alfred’s Way 2026 Itinerary

3 Day Tour - 350km/217 miles

Day 1 / Thursday 14th May

Transport to the event is to be booked separately by riders. You will need to arrive in Winchester from 6pm. Great transport links from London and Essex via train. Transport for cycles is included in the price.

Upon arrival we will assign you to your rooms, prepare cycles and have a briefing over dinner to prepare for the weekend ahead!

 Day 2 / Friday 15th May

7am meet / 8.30am departure - 88 miles / 141km / 6,024ft

Heading out from Winchester we join King Alfred’s Way clockwise. After 34 miles we arrive at our halfway point in Amesbury, before cycling the remainder of the route to Swindon to finish day 1! Coffee stops along the way and dinner out in Swindon.

Day 3 / Saturday 16th July

7am meet / 8.30am departure - 75 miles / 121km / 3,762ft

Leaving Swindon we re-join King Alfred’s Way headed East for 40 miles towards Reading. After lunch in Reading we continue round towards Aldershot for our second night. Dinner out in Aldershot.

Day 4 / Sunday 7th July

7am meet / 8.30am departure - 70miles / 113km / 5,846ft

Our final day takes us from Aldershot to Winchester. With coffee stops along the way to refuel, we then stop for lunch at 45 miles South of Petersfield. Onto the final 25 miles to Winchester for celebratory drinks and dinner before departing for home. RIders are welcome to add an additional nights stay should they wish to.
